John Best – ‘Grey Heron’ painting

Kathy Coull – ‘Blue Lightning’ wall-hanging
Opening bid: £100           Current highest bid: £100

Following on from the huge success of Ann Cleeves’s final book in her Shetland quartet – entitled ‘Blue Lightning’, which is set on Fair Isle, Kathy created a stunning felted wall-hanging depicting the lightning strike from the front cover of the book. Kathy runs a croft and 'The Fair Isle Textile Workshop' offering demonstrations and tuition in traditional textile skills, with accommodation if required. Kathy has kindly donated the wall-hanging (which is approximately 1m high by 50cm wide) to the Observatory for auction.
