Contact was made with our insurance company immediately upon the fire having been extinguished which left the Obs completely destroyed.
A number of meetings were then held with them and correspondence exchanged relating to our insurance policy and the fire. Very quickly the loss adjusters and a forensic investigator visited Fair Isle to undertake their own investigations.
Shortly after this, they advised us that liability was accepted for our policy. Currently, as is normal procedure in such circumstances, discussions are ongoing between us with regards to crystallisation of the sums that will be paid to us in due course.
We are extremely grateful to them for processing our claim so promptly which has allowed to commence with the rebuilding process so soon after the fire.
