Fair Isle Bird Observatory rebuild
Update – planning permission
We are delighted to announce that we have received from Shetland Islands Council notification of the approval for our plans for Obs 5. This is a major milestone in the rebuild process and will enable us now to proceed with the tendering process for the appointment of contractors to carry out the actual rebuild.
Given the current environment we are in due to Covid 19 we are extremely grateful to Shetland Islands Council for being able to process and determine our planning application so quickly notwithstanding the difficulties they face operating in due to Covid 19.
It is a testament to the abilities of our architects ICA, Quantity Surveyors NBM, Structural Engineers Will Rudd and Mechanical and Electrical Engineers RYBKA that we are still on schedule with regards to the rebuild.
In particular, we would like to thank our Project Manager Susan Clark who has ensured that we all have met the deadlines set out in our timetable for the rebuild, quite a feat!
