Fair Isle Bird Observatory rebuild
Update – Covid-19
At present, Corvid-19 has not impacted on the rebuild with everyone concerned in the project currently working from home.
However, given how fast changing the situation is, it is reasonable to expect that difficulties will arise in the future because of the virus. It is obviously impossible to anticipate what these will be, however we are keeping the matter under constant review.
Unfortunately, our seasonal staff have been unable to travel to Fair Isle and commence work at this juncture. Hopefully, they will be able to do so in the near future when it's safe for everyone concerned.
Whilst we will continue to put out limited bird news, it is not possible to travel to Fair Isle at present unless you are an islander or an essential work person. We will advise when the situation changes but currently no birders can travel to Fair Isle even if a first for the Western Palearctic arrives!
