Rebuild update
Since assuming the role of Principal Contractors, we are pleased to advise that we have made substantial progress with the rebuild.
Working together with our Project and Site Managers and the team of consultants and contractors we have assembled, has ensured that delays have been kept to a minimum and that we are keeping to our present timetable of being able to reopen at our usual time of late spring next year.
We are therefore pleased to announce it is our intention to start taking bookings late winter/early spring next year. We will announce on our website and social media channels when exactly this will take place in due course. Members of Friends of Fair Isle will receive advance notification of this and will have priority booking.
Regarding the recruitment of our new permanent staff of a Director of Ornithology and a Director of Hospitality, we intend to commence this process in the next few weeks. Again, full details of this will be posted on our website and social media channels.
It has been an extremely challenging project to rebuild the Obs. We are delighted that we are now nearing the end of this and look forward to welcoming you all to the new Obs next year.
